With David Taylor, MD

Mental health and addiction issues can impair practicing attorneys.  Though mental health and addiction problems vary in severity, they are a frequent cause of Bar discipline and other professional difficulties.  In this course, a Board-Certified psychiatrist reviews the symptoms and effects of common emotional, mental health, and addiction problems.  The course is intended to help attorneys understand if they or a colleague are struggling with these issues – and then, what can be done to treat the problem.

  • Understanding depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues that can affect a practicing attorney.
  • Getting familiar with the spectrum of addiction and how to recognize a problem before it becomes serious.
  • Treatment options and ways to cope with mental health issues that affect professional competency

This course counts for the one hour of MCLE education regarding substance abuse, mental or physical issues that impair professional competence.
